Muhammad Irfan, MD, MHPE, FIACLE is one of the clinical teacher at Ophthalmology Department UNHAS. He also an ophthalmologists at the JEC-ORBITA Makassar. He completed his education as a general practitioner and ophthalmologist at the Faculty of Medicine, UNHAS. He also obtained a master’s degree in public health (Hospital Administration) from the Faculty of Public Health UNHAS & Master of Health Profession Education (MHPE) from the Faculty of Medicine, UNHAS. In 2024 he got Fellow of International Association of Contact Lens Educator (FIACLE).
His interest in refraction and contact lenses led him to undergo Contact Lens observership activities at JEC, Indonesia. He also had the opportunity to deepen the science of refraction at Ninewells Hospital, Dundee, Scotland. His interest in research began when he was studying as a research student at Hiroshima University, Japan. Recently, He has completed Fellowship of Refractive Surgery at JEC, Indonesia.
Currently, he is a member and committee of PERDAMI South Sulawesi Regional Branch. He also an active member of the Indonesian Refraction and Visual Optimization Society (INARVOS), Indonesian Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgery (INASCRS), and the Asia Pacific Tele-ophthalmology Society (APTOS). He is also a committee of the Makassar Branch of Indonesian Eye Bank.
