INASCRS FILM FESTIVALThe INASCRS Film Festival (IFF) is held for the second time at the 7th INASCRS Biennial Meeting. All accepted film submissions will be available for viewing on-demand at the conference website. Winning films are presented at the 7th INASCRS Biennial Meeting closing ceremony. IFF is open to all Residents and Ophthalmologists with the terms and conditions as follows:

I. GENERAL
  1. Winners in each category bellow will receive a trophy: 
    • Cataract Surgery
    • Refractive/Corneal Surgery.
    • General Interest related to eye health.
  2. Participants are required to send a title & synopsis of up to 120 words. 
  3. Maximum Number of Authors & Co-authors is 5. Max 2 films for 1 author will be accepted from each category. However, the main producer can be co-producing other films (maximum 2 films) that are included in the competition.
  4. It should have no financial interest (no logo or company brands). Declaration of conflict(s) of interest should be made within the first 5 seconds of the video. Failure to declare conflict(s) of interest may result in the video not included for judging.
  5. The producer is required to be a registered and paid delegate of the 7th INASCRS Biennial Meeting and is strongly encouraged to attend the Film Festival Awards Ceremony.
  6. Films should not content racial, sexual, politics, or religious matters.
  7. The decision of the judges is final.
II. FILM JUDGING CRITERIA
  1. Applicability/educational value
  2. Originality
  3. Scientific content/validity
  4. Clarity
  5. Cinematic quality (audio, editing, technical)
  6. Artistic effects (music, graphic, lighting, animation, talent, effects)
III. TECHNICAL
  1. Film presentations exceeding (Maximum) the 8-minutes limit (including opening introduction and closing credits) will be disqualified.
  2. Films submitted to INASCRS will NOT be returned to the producer, do not send the master/original copy of your film. The film must be properly labelled with the producer’s name and the title of the film (not exceeding 20 words). The title on the label must match the title submitted and the title as presented in the film.
  3. Background of music should not violate the copy right.
  4. The narration should be clear.
  5. All presentations are in English for titling, subtitling, and soundtrack.
  6. The film should be shown on screen as seen by the surgeon with images of the eye and eye surgery filling most of the screen.
  7. The font size, style, and color should be readable.
  8. Graphics, schematic illustrations, and animation can be used to clarify points.
  9. Acknowledgement of prior investigators and contributors is required.
IV. FILM SPECIFICATION
  1. Format: MPEG-4 (MP4)
  2. Aspect Ratio: 16:9
  3. Preferred Resolution: 1080p (1920×1080)
  4. File Size: NOT more than 500 MB
V. FILM SUBMISSION
  1. Deadline of film submission: July 31st, 2024. No films submitted after the deadline will be accepted for judging.

    • Fill in the film synopsis maximum 120 words.
    • Please upload your video to online storage such as Google Drive or Dropbox then copy the link of your video.
    • Set the link to open access/editor access
    • Paste in the link to the video file link area.
    • Click Submit
