The ACS DMEK Wet-Lab is a hands-on introductory surgical wet-lab focusing on developing advanced surgical techniques of DMEK. The wet-lab will be conducted by renowned DMEK surgeons and instructors, who will demonstrate DMEK donor tissue preparation, DMEK donor insertion using the modified Jones tube approach, and donor positioning. All participants will have the opportunity to be guided by dedicated instructors to perform the fundamental techniques of DMEK tissue handling, tube loading, donor insertion into human corneas mounted on artificial chambers, and various donor tapping and manipulation surgical techniques.
